The Iron Rose (1973), dir. Jean Rollin

The Iron Rose is director Jean Rollin's fifth feature, and unlike the previous four, does not feature vampires in the title, or in the film . Instead, we get the story of a short-lived (literally) romance between a young couple who meet at a wedding, and end up spending the night at an eerie and labyrinthine cemetery. Rollin makes the most of his limited resources, as usual, and it's beautifully photographed by cinematographer Jean-Jacques Renon.

All captures are from the Kino/ Redemption Blu-Ray.

****WARNING!! SPOILERS AND MAYBE OTHER THINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE BELOW!!*****

This beach features in a number of Rollin films.

The Nutty Professor (1963) dir. Jerry Lewis

Jerry Lewis's slapstick take on Jekyll and Hyde, shot with a vivid Technicolor palette.
